Eleanor Antin

Eleanor Antin explores the potential of identity and moves between reality and fiction, image and self, past and present in her photographs, installations, videos, performances, and literary texts. She invents histories, narratives, and characters, yet also works with experience of the body and the self within a conceptual context, via using herself as an actor in her historically framed narratives.

In the Trenches Before Sebastopol, from Angel of Mercy film. photograph mounted on paper, 30.5 x 22", 1977.
