Roger Guenveur Smith


Roger Guenveur Smith is a little known actor and performance artist born in 1959 in Berkly CA. His most recent work of acclaim is The Heuy P. Newton Story (available at PBS.org) which is a performance piece directed by Spike Lee. Smith received the Obie Off Broadway Theatre award for his solo work with this piece. Smith also appeared in Do The Right Thing where he played a mentally handicapped man who spoke the virtues of Malcolm X, and Dr. Martin Luther King. Smiths abilities and genius in character portrayal has led him to many other Spike Lee Joints and will be some one to look for in the future.
