The music of Cacteau Twins is called " a dream pop". The music was characterized by a simple guitar tone which gave a mystery mood. A delicate Elizabeth Fraser's vocal supplemented everything - sung in made up or twisted language.
Allmusic reviewer Ned Raggett writes that "part of her appeal is how she can make hard-to-interpret lyrics so emotionally gripping."
