Gary Knox Bennett


Residing in Oakland Ca. , internationally known furniture maker, Gary Knob Bennett is currently represented by Leo Kaplan Gallery, NY. Showing a series of 52 chairs at the Delaware Art Museum. Bennett is known for unconventional materials and exploratory objects. One of few furniture designers who has been able to combine the realms of of sculpture and furniture. He approaches designs like a sculptor would their work. He builds on the fly, incorporating an array of materials and objects to suit each piece. There is no limit to what Bennett is willing or has tried. His furniture exhibits functionality and meticulous detail and craftsmanship. Now in his 70's and still producing , Bennett is referred to as "the oldest of the second generation of studio furniture makers."
