William Kentridge

William Kentridge is a animator and scene depicter of South African origin.  His work is often theatrical in nature in the sense of impending movement of everyday scenes.  Working with the landscapes around him and objects of little everyday interest he creates a narrative in his mind that does not play out to the audience.  He will find the beauty in a landscape and then draw the view that is behind him, wishing the viewer to see the interest in the mundane.  Politics plays a role, but only because it is a direct effect of his life.  Kentridge is a leader in movement of life and how it is drawn

I wonder how you feel artists of our generation are building on the mediation techniques of Kentridge, if at all? And should they?
